TRAVEL ESSAY
1st Paragraph

Merging with Nature
It was in the second week of Dec 2016, my PG classmates planned an unprecedented trip to Kodaikanal for two days in a tempo traveller. It was a hustle-bustle journey which unravelled the mysteries of nature to us. When we reached at the foot of Kodaikanal in the early morning, we only saw mist. When the driver went for a short nap, we early got out of the vehicle to see the outside world which was impatiently calling us. Though we shivered when we got out, we walked a little bit. To our surprise, we saw a small waterfall on the right side of the road and an orange orchard from where we took a few oranges that on the ground. It was an awesome feeling when I heard the falling of water in the early morning and accidentally falling the cold water droplets on my face.

2nd Paragraph
|
As I already mentioned, it was an unprecedented journey. On Tuesday, Jithin told, “Selfie girl, we are going for a trip tomorrow evening. Soumya ma’am and her husband will accompany us. Twelve classmates are ready for the trip. We are going to the tourist destination in a small AC tempo traveller. So pack everything and join us at 9 p.m in front of University College. ” Since it was a hurry-burry journey, I only took a few clothes, a sweater, a fleece blanket, a hiking shoe, a chappal, eatables including my father’s banana cluster which became the star of our journey, torch, my pocket money and my cute phone. We gave 1500/- to the tour coordinator, Brindha, for the trip. We stayed in Hotel Sunrise, Kodaikanal

3rd and 4th Paragraph
|
After reaching the hotel and taking breakfast, we got ready to go to “Kodaikanal Pine Forest”. When I reached there, I was shocked because it was a place which was entrapped with pines. There were so many monkeys which stole our street foods. Since it was a tedious to walk, we made a human chain to walk in ease. After saying “Bye Bye” to “Kodaikanal Pine Forest”, we headed to the mysterious “Guna Caves”. On the way, we saw a brook whose water was flowing through the road. We stopped the vehicle and removed our shoes to cross the brook. It was so cold. But we dared to touch the cold water and crossed the brook even if we felt numbness. We played in the cold water. Then we went to Guna caves, then to Coaker’s Walk, Kodaikanal lake and Poombarai village.

5th Paragraph
|
It is difficult to describe my Kodaikanal trip. I am still eager to know whether there is an end to Guna caves or is it an abyss. The terrace farming in Poombarai village is a breathtaking sight to see. This unprecedented trip made me to realize that we can find happiness in small incidents like running with my friends in the heavy rain in Kodaikanal and doing small stupidities such as screaming in a crowded road with my friends and fooled Ashwini and Vidya by not attending their calls which made them think that we already left Kodaikanal when the heavy rain occurred. These small incidents and stupidities gave us lifelong memories. I also realized that nature is helping to heal my wounds. Maybe that is why now also when I get tensed, I go for a trip with my half-crack friends, play in the rain or sea or go for a long ride in the night or a rainy day.
